HOW
TO GET INTO FASHION DESIGNING
Students may enter the fashion
design programme after completing the First Year Program,
meeting the minimum requirements of 6 credit hours in English, 6
credit hours
in art history, and 18 credit
hours in studio. Credits earned elsewhere must come
from an accredited college
or university and must demonstrate
art credit. No transfer credit is accepted for pattern making, sewing,
draping, or tailoring classes. Students will be reviewed
at the end of Fashion Design and Construction I to determine
whether they will continue in
the program.

students for new developments in the field of fashion.

A designer
must be aware of the important aesthetic, social and technical forces
of our time. Fashion students are exposed to influences and
issues that must be understood
in order
to achieve an informed, imaginative, and professional approach to the creation
of fashion.
Students
are given a foundation in drawing, draping, pattern
making, construction, fabric selection, and
the refinement and presentation of design ideas. Other sources of information
and experience that influence the development of fashion are investigated.
Students
can get lecture from designers
with international reputations such as Gianni
Versace,Karl Lagerfeld, Ungaro, Jean Charles de Castelbajic, Zandra Rhodes&
Issey Miyake.
Visiting
Students create and construct
the garments, select accessories, and
do the fittings on professional models.
