CHAMUNDI
HILLS The hill top
which offers a panoramic view of Mysore can be reached either by road or
by climbing up the 1000 steps laid by the Maharaja of Mysore in the 17th
century. Halfway up the steps is the majestic monolith of Nandi, Lord Shiva's
Bull. At the top is the 12th century temple of Chanmundeshwari, the patron
Goddess of the Wodeyars.
