Dr.K.B.Akhilesh  is currently the Chairman and Professorof the Department of  Management Studies , Indian Institute of Science,Bangalore. He specializes in the areas of Human Resource Management andOrganisational  Behaviour.He also  heads the Human Resource Development(HRD) Centre of the same Institute. Prof. Akhilesh is a graduate in science(1973) and postgraduate in Social Work  (1975), with a first rank.He obtained his Ph.D in 1980 for a thesis on OrganisationalDevelopment from Indian Institute of Science. He was awardedthe prestigious gold medal for his work as the best thesis of the Institute.   Prof.Akhilesh has contributed three books and about 75 papers in nationaland international journals. Several doctoral students are working underhis guidance.His current research and teaching interests are in the areasof Potential Appraisal, Technology Management,Managing R & D Professionals, Stress Management and Strategic HumanResources Developement. He has visited several countries includingUSA, 
Canada, Germany, UK, Japan and has delivered lectures abroad.
