Silver is harder than gold and can be brilliantly polished , but
it has a tendency to tarnish easily. Rural women prefer heavy silver ornaments, but
the urban choice is for light, delicate and dainty jewellery. Sterling silver, which is
supposed to be commonly used by all jewellers is 92.5% pure.
